Walt Opie is an insight meditation teacher based in Berkeley, CA. He currently serves as a core faculty member for Sacramento Insight Meditation (SIM) and co-leads a monthly online sangha for people in recovery through IMS Online. Walt is a graduate of the IMS Teacher Training Program and Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leaders program. He received an MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts (2004) and his writing appears in the book collection Still, In the City: Creating Peace of Mind in the Midst of Urban Chaos edited by Angela Dews (Skyhorse Publishing, 2018).
