Teresa Bouza

Teresa Bouza is a journalist, a caregiver, and a Zen practitioner. Born in Latin America, she grew up in Spain and spent most of her professional career in the US. A recipient of the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowship at Stanford, she worked for The Wall Street Journal, Spain’s global news agency EFE, and the TV station Univision. She co-authored “A Sense of Something Greater: Zen and the Search for Balance in Silicon Valley” with her Zen teacher, Les Kaye. Teresa is grateful for the beauty she found during the years she practiced meditation with her sangha at Kannon Do Zen Center in Mountain View (California). She loves spending time outdoors, subtle things in the world, and her Dharma name (Zen Breeze). She currently lives in Spain and is caring for her mother, who has Alzheimer’s. As an instructor for the Zen Caregiving Project, Teresa regularly teaches online classes for family caregivers, introducing them to practical mindfulness-based approaches and tools to build their emotional resilience.
