Pāli for Practice

Claralynn Nunamaker
By: Claralynn Nunamaker

Looking at the Pāli of canonical texts can reveal layers of meaning as well as alternate understandings that are not fully captured in standard translations. The aim of this session is to give practical insights and understandings that can enrich your personal practice. In this session we’ll investigate the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta (Foundations of Mindfulness, MN10), looking at the Pāli and, for some words, the related Sanskrit. Part 1 focuses on a handful of words used to describe how we practice. Part 2 focuses on the five hindrances.
